Bart Slawson brings decades of experience working closely with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, showcasing a rich history in environmental advocacy and regulation enforcement. His notable appointments include serving as Special Assistant Attorney General under Governor Guy Hunt and State AG Don Siegleman, specifically tasked with enforcing the Clean Water Act. His legal credentials are extensive, with admissions to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and all United States District Courts in Alabama.

Mr. Slawson has represented major municipal solid waste industrial facilities in West Alabama, and has robustly defended businesses in enforcement actions related to CERCLA and RCRA, brought by both the EPA and ADEM. His landmark legal victories include the 1996 case of Kipp, et al. v. Jefferson County, which not only led to a $3 billion settlement but also revolutionized sewage treatment practices across Jefferson County and served as a benchmark nationwide.
