Mr. Slawson has represented major municipal solid waste industrial facilities in West Alabama, and has robustly defended businesses in enforcement actions related to CERCLA and RCRA, brought by both the EPA and ADEM. His landmark legal victories include the 1996 case of Kipp, et al. v. Jefferson County, which not only led to a $3 billion settlement but also revolutionized sewage treatment practices across Jefferson County and served as a benchmark nationwide.

Another significant case was Byron Bart Slawson and Naomi N. Furman v. Alabama Forestry Commission, et al., which reinforced the requirements of the Alabama Sunshine Law, ensuring that public meetings adhere to legal standards for openness and transparency.

Furthermore, Mr. Slawson played a pivotal role in establishing a $30 million greenway project, significantly contributing to environmental conservation and community enhancement in Alabama.
